for a good laugh

Approximately 3 Minutes Inside the Head of my 2 Year Old

  1. I wanna play with Daddy’s phone.
  2. I wanna put on Mommy’s shoes.
  3. GET MOMMY’S SHOES OFF MY FEET NOW!
  4. I wanna open and close the thermostat.
  5. I wanna turn on and off the light on the microwave.
  6. Is there anyone here with a phone I haven’t played with yet?
  7. I NEED TO PUSH SOME GODDAMN BUTTONS.
  8. I wanna pick up the cat by its head.
  9. I wanna throw all the toothbrushes in the sink.
  10. HOLY SHIT I’M STARVING.
  11. CHEDDAR BUNNIES.
  12. I HATE FRUIT.
  13. I want out of my chair.
  14. I wanna play with the iPad.
  15. I wanna go outside. No, I wanna turn the heat on.
  16. I wanna take my pants off.
  17. I don’t like the shirt I’m wearing.
  18. I wanna play with Mommy’s phone.
  19. I NEED TO PUSH MORE BUTTONS NOW.
  20. I’m thirsty.
  21. No, not for that.
  22. Yes, perfect, juicebox. I’m gonna squeeze this damn thing all over myself.
  23. Where’s Daddy?
  24. Where’s the cat?
  25. Where’s Mommy?
  26. SERIOUSLY WHERE’S MOMMY!?
  27. Oh my God I think Mommy left forever.
  28. Ok, there’s mommy. I want to play with her phone.
  29. Hungry again. Never mind.
  30. I just remembered not liking these pants. Get them off.
  31. STOP TAKING OFF MY PANTS!
  32. Wow, I’m starving. I want peas but I don’t know how to tell anyone.
  33. Finally, peas. I like throwing these.
  34. WHY DO I STILL HAVE THESE PANTS ON?
  35. Oh look, a new person. I wonder if they have a phone.
  36. I’m tired.
  37. I’M NOT TIRED!
  38. I wanna go for a walk but I don’t wanna go outside.
  39. No, not inside either!
  40. I need to push some buttons right now.
  41. I hate this diaper.
  42. My eyes itch.
  43. WOW! Is this my toe?
  44. STOP TRYING TO TAKE MY PANTS OFF!
  45. I hate these pants.
  46. This shirt itches.
  47. I’m tired.
  48. Stop asking me if I’m tired.
  49. Where’s that toy that goes beep?
  50. I wanna take a bath in my clothes.
  51. Put on my favorite song.
  52. Where’s the cat?
  53. What is UP with my shirt?
  54. Did I just hear a dog bark?
  55. YOU DID NOT JUST TRY TO TAKE OFF MY SHIRT AGAIN!
  56. I wanna see a dog.
  57. No, not OUTSIDE! I wanna see a dog inside.
  58. Is my penis still there? Good.
  59. I peed.
  60. I’m bored.
        Repeat.

Not looking forward to traveling with him on thursday, but we have a doctor's appointment tomorrow....In the meantime, frequent nasal bulb syringes and boogie wipes for honeybunny and lots of tea & honey for mumma.

what's in my bag

my baby bag was my "push present" from Christopher..... it's tory burch, and not technically a baby bag, but it works perfectly! with two inside pouches, a zipper shut, and cleans easily through the wash :)

These "What's in my Baby Bag" posts have been sweeping mommy & daddy blogger sites as of late and I actually get a lot of questions as to the contents of my baby bag so thought I'd join the band wagon and share. Of course when Landon was a newbie I carried around more stuff (formula, water, my pump, more diapers and wipes) but we really don't carry as much now. Minus the wipes and drink bottle, I emptied out today's contents below:

From top left clockwise:
1. 2 Rumparooz cloth diapers (Everything Birth)
2. Pickles Bamboo baby blanket (gifted from landon's godmother Meaghan)
3. Landon's Immunization log and copy of birth certificate (I always keep these in here for when we travel)
4. extra pacifier
5. London Fog jacket (TJ Maxx)
6. extra outfit
7. animal crackers 100 calorie pack
9. the beloved sock monkey
10. Cars
11. bubbles
12. my old iphone
13. disposable bibs for on-the-go
14. my favorite Prada sunglasses
16. digital camera
18. Sweet 'N Salty meal bar
19. Umbrella (Zara)
20. Toiletry bag with the following contents:
Boogie Wipes
bandaids
Neosporin
Vaseline
alcohol spray
hand sanitizer
nose bulb
Little Noses nose saline spray/drops
Johnson's travel sized shampoo
Eucerin travel wash
Johnson's travel moisturizing lotion
hair elastic
Chapstick

Carolyn's Wedding

I was so honored to be a part of my best friend's beautiful wedding day in Newport, Rhode Island this past weekend, and ecstatic that she wanted Landon to be the ring bearer. We got there on Thursday, enjoyed an amazing Rehearsal Dinner at the Mooring Restaurant, and an awesome day and night at the wedding at Belle Mer on Friday.

beautiful couple

Carolyn, you were such a stunning bride, you and Derek make such a beautiful couple, we had so much fun celebrating with you and wish you so much happiness in your new life together!!!

more crafts

In some spare time while the babies were napping last week I made landon this little crate. One side says "books" stenciled in english, french, italian, and spanish, and the other side, "toys". I'm really surprised at how much it contains and love how it came out :)

Homemade coasters

Put on my crafty hat and made some coasters. I've been looking for a set for a long time now but have been extremely picky, so decided to make my own. A quick trip to home depot, some gorilla glue, and a few strokes of my paintbrush later:

What You'll Need:
- 4 tiles. 4''x4'', they are only .16 cents at Home Depot.
- 4 photos (4''x4''). I printed all my images right from my Mac on photo paper (you can find photo paper anywhere, Walmart, Target, Staples).
- paintbrushes (any kind will do).
- one sheet of felt paper.
- gorilla glue (preferably the one that dries white).
- finishing glaze/varnish. I used Liquitex's Gloss Varnish bought at Michaels. You can also use a clear spray paint but apparently that is illegal to buy/sell in Illinois??
Directions:
- pick out your photos/images and print and cut out them out 4 inches by 4 inches.
- gorilla glue them to the coasters and let dry.
- glaze over with finishing gloss/varnish. Let dry and do it 2 more times for extra protection.
- cut out 16 little squares (or hearts if you want to be cute) from the felt paper.
- gorilla glue the felt pads onto bottom side of coasters.
- Let everything dry and don't be afraid to use! ;)
They are really very easy and quick to make - The longest part was just waiting for the gorilla glue and gloss/varnish to dry. And on top of being personalized and homemade, they work really well. I was so happy with and proud of how they came out I even made another set for my sister and her fiance as a little part of her bridal shower gift:

"The Windy" Tall Ship ride

So this was the third dreadful time we've tried to get on this ship the past week because it was in such high demand with the new YouSwoop deal. I was really excited for Landon to experience his first boat ride and in particular, this special pirate-themed one. I carefully scheduled this one right after his morning nap so he would be especially alert and appreciate the pirate tales.
He was an all star walking up Navy Pier with me, drinking out of his little cup, and was an angel baby waiting in line. Of course the second we got on the ship he starts to wail. He has this new scream where he sounds like a dying animal and it was in full force. I don't even mind so much when I'm home alone with him but his dying animal scream was a million times worse in public and with everyone staring at us. The boat was packed but slowly one by one people started evacuating our end of the ship. He would not sit still, was not hungry, thirsty, wet, dirty, and how could be be tired I thought?? He was an absolute lunatic. Well, as soon as we (finally) took off, his little eyelids slowly drooped down and the screaming stopped, and he slept through the entire hour and a half long ride. We missed the pirate tales, spent as much as we saved on the YouSwoop deal in taxis because I was too cold to walk, and I got motion sick with a comatose baby on my lap. But I guess it was nice to have the whole end of the ship to ourselves.

Happy September

I am loving the cooler weather, and could really get used to high 70's for the rest of my life. I went to bed super early last night and woke up early this morning before Landon (rare) and got to appreciate the sun rising outside my window with a fresh cup of coffee. It's officially the beginning of Fall, and I think we're off to a good start :) Happy Labor Day Weekend everybody!
